When Life Gives You Lemons, Make a Cannabis Cocktail
Nothing is more classic Orange County than tangy citrus. It’s in the name, after all. While you’re welcome to sub the lemon out for our namesake fruit, we love the sour brightness that lemons bring to the table. It’s even better paired with elegant lavender or mixed up with rosemary and grapefruit.
We’ve got two drinks on the menu tonight: a French 420 (a play on the French 75), and our alcohol-free take on sangria. Each recipe is meant to serve two, but the high-CBD blend of Cann Social Tonic means that drinking both of them yourself isn’t exactly out of order, either.
The French 420 Cocktail: Lemon, Lavender, and Cannabis
Equipment needed:
1 small saucepan
Ingredients for the lavender black tea syrup:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
3 lavender black tea bags
Ingredients for the cannabis cocktail:
1/4 cup lavender black tea syrup
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 Cann Social Tonic – Lemon Lavender
To make the lavender black tea syrup:
Combine the ingredients in the small saucepan, then bring to a high heat, stirring continuously for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and remove the tea bags, and let the syrup cool.
To make the cannabis cocktail:
Add the lavender black tea syrup, lemon juice, and Cann Social Tonic to a pitcher. Stir well.
Fill two highball glasses with ice, and fill them evenly with the cannabis cocktail mixture. Give a toast, then enjoy your French 420 with a loved one. Cheers!
Marijuana Sangria Blanca
Ingredients:
2 Cann Social Tonics in Grapefruit Rosemary
1/2 cup grapefruit juice
1/4 cup simple syrup
1/2 cup sparkling water (grapefruit flavor)
3/4 cup strawberries, diced
1 lemon, cut into thin slices
1 cup ice
Optional – 2 sprigs rosemary (for garnish)
Combine all ingredients, then pour evenly into two glasses. Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh, terpene-rich rosemary. Enjoy on the porch with a bowl of your favorite cannabis strain, or serve at an intimate at-home date night.
